However, between <\/span><b>1983<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to<\/span><b> 1985<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, in what is now known as the <\/span><b>Video Game Crash of 1983<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the industry fell <\/span><b>from $3.2 Billion in 1983 to $100 Million in 1985.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Since then the industry has taken more recession-proof steps with the biggest and most obvious factor being <\/span><b>customer service.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>How did CRM help?<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Video gaming companies have started using CRM to improve ways a typical gamer interacts with their games such as getting ideas for new franchises. Within 16 days the game earned <\/span><b>$400 Million<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. It was able to do so because they knew exactly what their customers wanted and they gave it to them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Robert Schmid, CIO of Activision, was quoted saying \u201c<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I personally don\u2019t like calling somewhere. I just hate hanging on the phone.\u201d <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And because his sentiments were shared by a majority of the company\u2019s customers, Activision employed <\/span><b>Social Studio<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> by <\/span><b>Salesforce Marketing Cloud<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to listen to their customers in a different way. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Social Studio<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> allowed Activision to see what people were saying about their product and quickly track down users who were experiencing issues. All these issues and conversations were then integrated to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.salesforce.com\/blog\/customer-service-ai\/\"><b>Salesforce Service Cloud<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> where customer service reps quickly followed up on them.
